Techniques Used In Modular Home Construction
While modular homes are growing in popularity, most people have no idea about these homes are constructed so quickly yet of such high quality. To begin with, you should know that these homes are built in an indoor warehouse. Herein they are moved down an assembly line.
The materials that are used in building these homes are supplied on site. Since these materials can be purchased in bulk, there is a substantial savings to be had.
When a modular home first hits the assembly line, the steel undercarriage and the steel frame is made. The home’s floor is then sheeted. Afterwards measurements are taken and chalk lines drawn so that walls can be placed. Now it is time for a separate station to frame the walls. These walls have been pre-built and thus they only need to be securely attached. Once this is done, the plumbing, ductwork and electrical wires can all be ran.
After a home is built it can be sided and any custom features can then be installed. These are only a small part of the finishing touches that must be done. Other things that must be done at this point include laying down the carpeting, putting the appliances where they belong and installing the kitchen and bathroom fixtures. The home will then be moved to a final station where cleanup will take place and then there will be a final inspection to make sure that everything has been done according to the customer’s exact specifications.
Once everything is correct, the home will then be shipped off to be installed on a lot.
